One harvest. Another beginning.
Rice harvested, mustard sown, and banana care continuing: October brings several seasons of work together.

Rice harvested, mustard sown, bananas still needing water: October held several points in the growing year at once. The next crop was beginning before all the work on the last had finished.
October on the farm
By 18 October 2026, the Navara red rice harvest was complete and mustard had been sown. One stretch of work was ending as another began.
Among the bananas, the second top dressing and earthing-up were finished, while irrigation was still underway. These plants needed attention alongside the seasonal crops, each with its own pace of growth.
The quieter work
Two days later, manual wild-paddy removal in the rice known here as 1718 was complete. It was a smaller milestone than a harvest, but part of the same season’s work.
That is what we want to follow in this journal: the harvests, certainly, but also the care between them. The jobs that take more than one day. The crops still growing when attention turns to the next sowing.
October’s story is in that overlap. Harvesting, planting and tending all belong on the same page.
